This is the only before picture I have of this guy. He is hiding beneath the taller table.
The finished product was a far cry from where it started. It sold the first day.
This is a place where I can share my little projects with whoever may be interested. I have a love for Midcentury Modern furniture and design. In fact, I was born into it. I was lucky enough to have a Dad with a great eye for modern design and architecture. Growing up we always had extraordinary houses including an Eichler. I have a side business re-selling Midcentury Modern furniture and this specific blog is dedicated to some of the pieces I find which are in pretty rough shape to begin with but with some expertise and a little love, end up being the things of beauty they were meant to be.

Midcentury Modern Chairs
When I got these they had lots of dings and scratches, the joints were loose and creaky and they had a hideous flower pattern fabric. I re-glued all the joinery, sanded and refinished the wood, added some foam and re-upholstered the seats. There is a fifth chair to the set which had a split leg when I got it. I managed to repair it with hide glue and clamps. It's nearly invisible now. I put more time than it was worth into these chairs but I think they'll make someone happy. They are for sale for $225. Update: Sold.

Danish Modern Lamp Table
Unfortunately I didn't get a before picture of this one. I got this for free while buying a coffee table from a really cute surfer girl down in Laguna Beach. It had a cracked edge, some scratches and various stains. I repaired the crack and re-finished the top. A very nice little piece.
Skinny Leg Walnut Kitchen Table
This was my first re-finish project. I bought it at an estate sale for less than a decent bottle of scotch. It was a real basket case but I loved the skinny legs.
The end product was so nice that I'm going to keep it for myself.
Lane End Table with Drawer
A nice Lane end table. A few water spots and scratches on the top, otherwise a very clean piece.
A little love and watch how the flame appears. I really do love walnut.
Finished product.

Conant Ball Dining Table and Chairs
This wasn't a huge project. The table just needed some oil and the seat cushions needed to be re-upholstered. I liked the original pattern, unfortunately it was fairly worn. I got some nice vintage fabric at a place near my house and got busy.
Bassett End Table With Inlays
I wasn't entirely sure this one was savable.
I was happily proven wrong.
It is currently for sale for $155.
